Great Lakes Crystal Technologies (GLCT), a high-tech startup in Michigan’s Capitol Region, is pleased to announce that the company has retained Amy Cell Talent (AC Talent) to assist it with human resource management.

GLCT currently has 2 full time employees and 2 part time employees who are working diligently to build up the company’s pilot manufacturing line in the Van Camp Incubator + Research Center and executing on a number of federal R&D contracts while raising funding from investors for its Seed Financing round. A key hire, Director of Production, will come on board in early April, and several additional hires are planned by the end of the year.

To support its growth, GLCT realized it needed a nimble HR partner that understands start-ups and technology companies. AC Talent has a proven track record of working with a broad range of clients in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Its team of experienced consultants have expertise in the following areas:

  • Recruiting and staffing
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Training and learning, including DEI training
  • Organization development

GLCT’s president and CEO, Dr. Keith Evans, commented, “We’re working hard and really enjoying it, but we’re also finding there isn’t as much time in the day as we need to properly take care of our HR needs. It is with pleasure that we retain the services of AC Talent. By leveraging their deep understanding of and connection to local resources both within AC Talent and in other organizations in our region, I am confident that together we’ll do a great job in HR within an attractive budget. This allows us to prioritize attracting and retaining top talent, while freeing up valuable executive time to pursue many other growth opportunities.”

GLCT first learned about AC Talent when Amy Cell, Founder and President of AC Talent, gave a presentation during one of the Spartan Innovations seminars in 2020, and GLCT president Keith Evans was in attendance in his prior role as an Entrepreneur in Residence for Spartan Innovations. “One of the best parts about my job is connecting with and supporting innovative companies in Michigan,” says Cell. It was an honor to present at the Spartan Innovations seminar, and I was super impressed by GLCT’s technology. We look forward to working with Dr. Evans and his team to support their growth and success.”
