Process Engineer

About Great Lakes Crystal Technologies

Great Lakes Crystal Technologies (GLCT) was formed in 2019 to create a commercial source of semiconductor-grade diamond materials for advanced (non-gemstone) applications. GLCT’s technology is based on patented equipment and methods developed over 25 years at Michigan State University (MSU) including recently in collaboration with MSU-located Fraunhofer USA Center for Coatings and Diamond Technologies. GLCT is currently setting up a semiconductor grade diamond materials pilot manufacturing line at the Van Camp Incubator + Research Labs located near MSU campus.

Position Description

The Process Engineer reports to the Chief Scientist and provides hands-on assistance in designing and carrying out processes used in the development, use, and maintenance of the company’s pilot manufacturing line for making semiconductor grade diamond materials and for carrying out the tasks associated within the company’s federal R&D projects.

Requirements for Part Time Internships:

  • You are a student pursuing a college degree in any STEM or business-related discipline
  • You can work well within a fast paced startup environment
  • You have at least one month of experience in working in a high technology laboratory

Requirements for Full Time Employment:

  • You have a bachelor’s or higher degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent work experience
  • You can work well within a fast paced startup environment
  • You have at least one month of experience in working in a high technology laboratory

Equipment/Hardware Engineer
